Thought about Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl" today. It was one of my mom's favorite songs because she had brown eyes.

Now, I'm thinking about other songs that were part of our bond. We used to sing Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe" to each other. I still remember yelling the chorus. I would elongate the last word, "I got youuuu BAAABBBEEE" as a little girl.

Another song we sang to each other was "You Are My Sunshine." Sometimes, when I'm alone, I sing it out loud to myself. My voice breaks at "please, don't take my sunshine away."

I loved her with all my heart. And I miss her with all my heart, too. .
