Mark Rothko - "No.5 (Red, Black and Brown-Black)" (1963)
Today was my 37th birthday. I am documenting it, but I have little to say about it. It is my second birthday without my mother. My second birthday as an orphan. I cried all day. The tears wouldn't stop. I thought of my parents in the delivery room after I was born, holding me in their arms. Now their arms are gone, and my arms are empty.
