I am officially kicking off Austen Autumn! I'm sure someone else has used this phrase (who knows), but it came to me a couple of months ago when I saw this gorgeous cover of Persuasion.
I knew I had to have it, and I wanted to save it for the fall so that I could spend an entire month reading the book and watching various film adaptations of Austen's books. So, that's how I'll be spending my November!
I have to be honest. I've only read one Jane Austen book 🫣. Don't judge me! Many years ago, I read Northanger Abbey, and I really enjoyed it, but I've only experienced Austen's work through film and television.
I'm excited to finally read Persuasion. I've heard wonderful things about it, and I have a feeling I might love it.
As for the adaptations, I plan to rewatch some of my favorites. Those include:
Pride and Prejudice (1995)
Sense and Sensibility (1995)
Northanger Abbey (2007)
Persuasion (2007)
When it comes to more recent adaptations, I would like to see Emma (2020), and I might seek out the new Pride and Prejudice mini-series that is set to premiere on Netflix in December.
